Public Health Ministry suggest reformation of medical institutions
Astana, March 20, 2009 (Khabar) - The ministry of public health suggests optimizing the network of public health institutions. The project on single standards of health care facilities’ work was discussed at the government’s round table involving Prime Minister Karim Massimov. The implementations of the project will allow for saving finances, improve management and reduce the administrative machinery, believes the minister Zhaksylyk Doskaliyev. At present, chief doctors of hospitals and clinics are dealing with management and financial affairs. It is suggested to release them from these functions. Outpatient’s clinic in villages will become organization departments of regional clinics which take up the issues of management and logistics. T.B, oncological, dermatoveneralogic, psychiatric and narcological dispensaries, central regional hospitals, the AIDS centre and clinics will remain as independent corporate bodies. The prime minister of the country suggested finalizing the project and to discuss it at one of the governmental sittings.
Zhaksylyk Doskaliyev, minister for public health of RK:
- Today, chief doctors of village outpatients’ clinics and divisional hospitals have to go to the region in order to solve various problems. During these periods outpatients’ facilities have to operate without their medical staff or the chief doctor. So a great number of inconveniences will be avoided with the consideration and approval of this standard.
