‘Iranian weightlifters well-prepared for world championship’

TEHRAN, Oct. 31 (MNA) -- The coach of Iran’s weightlifting team said that the Iranian athletes are well-prepared for the 2011 World Weightlifting Championships, which will be held in Paris from November 5 to 13. “The Iranian lifters are determined to win medals in the competition. Russia and China are our two big rivals in the tournament, but I believe that we are capable of surpassing them,” Kurosh Bagheri said in Tehran on Sunday. “Our lifters have worked hard over the past few months, and they are ready to give a good performance in Paris,” he added. The championships will also serve as the qualification competition for the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
