AFC Dismisses Al Hilal's Appeal Over Champions League Withdrawal

Kuala Lumpur, September 26 (QNA) - The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) dismissed a protest lodged by KSA's Al Hilal against their withdrawal from the Asian Champions League because they were able to name only 11 players for their final Group B fixture.
"The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Disciplinary and Ethics Committee today dismissed a protest lodged by Al Hilal SFC, of Saudi Arabia, in connection with their withdrawal from the AFC Champions League (West) pursuant to Article 4.3 of the 'Special Rules Applicable to AFC Competitions During the COVID-19 Pandemic," the AFC said in a statement on Saturday.
Al Hilal had raised an official protest against the AFC's decision to consider it withdrawing from the Champions League after it was unable to present a list of 13 players, as a minimum, in its last group matches against the UAE's Shabab Al-Ahli Club. (QNA)
