AFC Dismisses UAE Protest Over Qatar's Players

Kuala Lumpur, February 01 (QNA) - Asian Football Confederation's (AFC) Disciplinary and Ethics Committee rejected on Friday the appeal filed by the UAE Football Association, which included the illegality of the participation of Almoez Ali and Bassam Al Rawi with Qatar national team in the 2019 AFC Asian Cup. AFC's Disciplinary and Ethics Committee on Friday dismissed the protest lodged by the United Arab Emirates Football Association over the eligibility of two Qatar players, AFC said in a statement on its official website, just hours before Qatar's final match against Japan. The UAE Football Association has protested against the eligibility of two Qatari players Almoez Ali and Bassam Al Rawi. However, the Disciplinary and Ethics Committee dismissed the appeal because the Emirati side didn't provide official documents supporting it. (QNA)
