Al Khater Affirms Success of FIFA Club World Cup 2019

Doha, December 20 (QNA) - FIFA Club World Cup 2019 Local Organizing Committee CEO Nasser Al Khater has affirmed the success of the FIFA Club World Cup 2019, which will conclude tomorrow (Saturday) in Doha, saying it was a real experience for the local organizing committee for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. This tournament is a true test for facilities, and for Qatar's organizational capacity in terms of transportation and security regulatory aspects, he added.
Talking to representatives of the local and international press on Friday, Al Khater said that 1400 volunteers are taking part in the current championship, including 200 volunteers from outside the country, expressing his great happiness at the success of the tournament which he considered a good test for the local committee in order to find out what has been done in all aspects. He pointed out that Qatar had hosted the 24 Gulf Cup tournament few days before the start of this tournament and the total number of days of the two tournaments is approximately similar to that of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
He also affirmed that the local organizing committee for this tournament (the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy) is fully satisfied with the success of the organization of the two tournaments, which were jointly organized with the FIFA, as they applied all the FIFA standards in all aspects.
Al Khater explained that the great turnout at the Gulf Cup and the current FIFA Club World Cup is good and that a number of matches saw great attendance, praising citizens and residents' great interaction with all the activities organized by the organizing committee.
He pointed out that the work is proceeding at a steady pace in the organizational process for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 in terms of stadiums, as there are 4 stadiums will be ready in 2020. The stadiums of Education City and Al Bayt in Al-Khor have been completed and the only remaining thing is to conduct experimental matches in them, while the stadiums of Al-Thumama and Al-Rayyan will be completed in 2020, he said, adding this a good work and confirms Qatar's readiness to host the tournament and that what has been done is considered a real achievement for the State of Qatar by completing what it promised well before the tournament starts.
Al Khater also praised the successful Metro experience, adding that the metro was one of the factors that helped make the FIFA Club World Cup a success because it represented a convenient and fast means of transportation for the fans who were going to the stadium to watch the matches in the two championships.
Regarding the preparation for tomorrow's match between Liverpool and Brazil's Flamingo, Al Khater stressed that the preparation for it is going on just as any match in the tournament and that it will have a huge public turnout.
On cooperation between FIFA and the local organizing committee, Al Khater said that the FIFA is constantly present in all events organized by Qatar and there is a great work between FIFA and the local committee as well as unlimited cooperation in order to reach a full readiness to host the 2022 World Cup, explaining that the local committee has international experts besides FIFA experts who evaluate all that the local organizing committee is doing for development.
