All conditions in place World Cup 2018 TV rights issue to be settled by yearend - Mutko

MOSCOW, December 1. /TASS/. There is every prerequisite the issue of Russia’s right to telecast the 2018 World Football Cup it will host next summer will be settled by New Year’s Eve, Deputy Prime Minister, chairman of the Russia-2018 organizing committee Vitaly Mutko told TASS in an interview. "FIFA President (Gianni Infantino) is here this week. We will discuss this issue with him. We have met all of FIFA’s requirements. I believe that the question will be settled in the near future. There is every prerequisite this will happen by New Year’s Eve. We would like it to have it this way very much," Mutko said. The right to telecast Confederations Cup matches was purchased from FIFA by the consortium 2Sport2 incorporating Channel 1, VGTRK and Match TV.
