Bahrain athletes return to a special welcome

Manama, Apr. 9(BNA): Bahrain’s national athletics team were given a special welcome on return from Cairo, in Egypt, after their remarkable finish at the 21st Arab Athletics Championships. The nationals finished on top at the end of this four-day challenge, where they bagged 24 medals in total, including 15 gold, six silver and three bronze. Bahrain Olympic Committee sports associations director Hisham Al Balooshi led a team of sports officials from the committee and the Bahrain Athletics Association in welcoming members of the delegation on arrival at Bahrain International Airport. Al Balooshi congratulated the Bahraini athletes on their outstanding results and emphasized the importance of this achievement in further boosting the kingdom’s reputation as one of the region’s most prominent in the game. He conveyed the greetings of Bahrain Olympic Committee secretary general Mohammed Al Nusuf to all members of the delegation and for what they have accomplished in this challenging event. Al Basloohi noted that the Bahrain Olympic Committee will continue to support the Bahraini athletes in order to further develop their respective sports and take them to higher levels.
