BIC marks 50-day countdown to F1 Bahrain

Manama, Feb. 6 (BNA): The countdown continues and excitement is set to reach fever pitch ahead of the biggest and most anticipated event of the year.
Only 50 days remain until the eyes of the world turn to Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) in Sakhir for the start of the weekend’s events in the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2019.
The F1 spectacle, this year themed “Limitless”, takes place over four action-packed days on March 28- 31 at “The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East”.
F1’s drivers and teams are already gearing up for the launches of their 2019 challengers beginning this week, just ahead of the start of pre-season testing on February 18 in Barcelona.
The 2019 FIA F1 World Championship then gets underway in Australia on March 17, paving the way for the Bahrain Grand Prix, which will be the second of 21 rounds in the new season.
The 57-lap sprint in the heart of the desert will mark the 999th World Championship race in the history of the top flight. It is being held as part of the landmark 15th season of BIC and it will be the sixth time it is taking place under BIC’s state-of-the-art floodlights as a night race.
A four-day ticket to the Turn One Grandstand is BD100; whereas University and Victory Grandstand tickets are BD60 apiece.
It is worth noting that BIC has covered the Value Added Tax (VAT) on all Bahrain Grand Prix ticket prices, saving fans from any additional expense to attend the biggest sporting and social event of the year. The prices are also amongst the most competitive for any event on the F1 calendar.
