Deaf federation formed

Manama, Feb. 7 (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman, and Bahrain Olympic Committee President, has issued a decision, forming a board of directors for the recently-announced Bahrain Deaf Federation. The new federation will be responsible for overseeing the plans, programmes and activities dedicated for people with hearing impairment. This decision was as per reviewing the associations and social, cultural clubs and private bodies in the field of youth and sports promulgated by legislative decree No. 21/1989, as amended. HH Shaikh Nasser also issued another decree issuing the regulations for athletes’ affairs in Bahrain. The provisions of these regulations shall be implemented, while any provision contradicting it shall be repealed.
