Efforts to boost women's sports lauded

Manama, (BNA): The Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) Assistant Secretary General and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) member Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa commended the results of her meeting with Youth and Sports Affairs Minister Ayman Tawfiq Al Moayyed. She lauded the minister's keenness to boost women’s sports in Bahrain by activating her role within national sports clubs. Shaikha Hayat thanked the minister for his support and keenness to take bilateral cooperation between the ministry and BOC to higher levels in line with the directives of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, SCYS Chairman, and BOC President. She pointed out the national programme ‘Estijaba’ aimed at developing the youth and sports movement. She added that the minister had stressed the importance of activating partnership between the two parties with regards to boosting women’s sports. Shaikha Hayat concluded by extending gratitude to the ministry for its support to BOC in its efforts to promote women’s sports in the Kingdom.
