Football: Qatar Awaits 2021 Gold Cup Draw

Miami, September 28 (QNA) - The Qatari national team awaits tomorrow in Miami, Florida the draw for the 2021 Gold Cup. The Concacaf said on its website that the new set-up for the North American continent's flagship competition will include a Preliminary Round prior to the 16 team Group Stage with Qatar as the guest of honor. The Preliminary Round will include 12 Member Associations competing for the final three spots in the Group Stage. It will be played as a direct elimination format, from July 2 to July 6, in a centralized location in the United States. Qatar is the seventh-ever guest of the competition and the first Arab nation to be selected. The previous guests were Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, South Africa, and South Korea. (QNA)
