Football: Qatar Olympic Team Draws with Syria in Asian U-23 Championships

Bangkok, January 09 (QNA) - Qatar's Olympic team began Thursday their Asian football cup U-23 campaign with a 2-2 draw with Syria. Qatar opened the scoring in the first minute through Youssef Abdulrazaq and benefited from a Youssef Mohammed own goal in the 22nd minute. The Qatari team could not hold on to the two-goal lead and actually conceded the equalizer in the 4th minute of added time of the second half. The 2020 AFC U-23 Championship is the 4th edition of the AFC U-23 Championship, the biennial international age-restricted football championship organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) for the men's under-23 national teams of Asia. A total of 16 teams are competing in the tournament. It is taking place between January 8 to 26 2020 in Thailand. (QNA)
