Governorates' Sports Day programme finalised

Manama, Jan. 14 (BNA): The governorates have confirmed their programmes to be presented as part of the 2019 Bahrain Sports Day, scheduled for February 12, it was announced on Monday.
The third edition of the Sports Day is organized by the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) as the nation’s four governorates will bring a string of activities for all members of the family attending this year’s event.
A second meeting between the organising committee and representatives of the four governorates, staged at the BOC premises in Seef, focused on a number of subjects in regards to the nature of activities to be held during the day.
The meeting was chaired by Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) assistant secretary general and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) secretary general Abdulrahman Askar, in presence of Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs assistant undersecretary and organizing committee member Dr. Shaikh Saqer bin Salman Al Khalifa, who was briefed on each of the governorates arrangements made prior to the Sports Day festivities.
Present were Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs Youth (MYSA) Centres Director Nawar Al Mutawa, BOC Information, Public Relations and Marketing Director and Media Committee chairman Mohamed Lori, coordinators Fatima Al Sakran and Khalid Ibrahim, and governorates representatives: Adnan Al Sada (Muharraq), Mohammed Al Buainain (Southern) and Yousef Al Zayani (Capital), while there was no show for the Northern Governorate official.
During the meeting, a set of unified activities will be organised in all four governorates from 3:30 pm onwards. These events will include a walking and running races for three kilometers, in addition to individual and team sports contest in specific locations in each governorate.
Al Najma Club will hold the activities of the Capital Governorate, events held in Muharraq will be organized by Muharraq Governorate, Awali walkway will feature Southern Governorate festivities, while the Northern Governorate will have its own programmes at Aali walkway.
Dr. Shaikh Saqer thanked the organising committee partners, specifically commending the absolute cooperation of the Interior Ministry’s Public Security Sports Federation and the Military Sports Federation of the Ministry of Defense, for providing volunteers contributing in organising the activities.
