HH Shaikh Nasser gives directives to focus on empowering youth

Manama, June 29 (BNA): Personal Representative of HM the King for Charity Work and Youth Affairs and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, has given directives to Youth and Sports Affairs Minister, Ayman bin Tawfiq Al-Moayyad, to take the necessary admistrative procedures to rename youth centres as «Youth Empowment Centres». In a statement, youth minister said that HH Shaikh Nasser’s directives are within efforts to develop administrative and technical work at youth incubators, and put forward the necessary strategies aimed at enhancing the youth movement. He added that the aim is to develop and increase the youth-directed programmes to attract more youth, noting that the focus in the coming period will be on empowering youth, as well as on discovering talent and honing it. He stressed that the goals of moving towards youth empowerment is multifold, including embracing youths’ ideas in every field, involving them more effectively in development programmes, in addition to adopting and implementing their programmes and preparing them for the future. HH Shaikh Nasser has always affirmed that Bahrain is rich with its citizens and youth and that gold is their genuine mettle, and therefore we have to focus on refining their talent in various fields and presenting them as effective models to society, he said. The minister added that HH Shaikh Nasser has instructed to activate the Youth Empowerment Directorate at the Youth and Sports Affairs Ministry and dedicate its work to highlighting ambitious Bahraini youth talents through its affiliate centres, noting that the directorate’s success would be measured by the extent of its success in supporting and bringing to light youth talent.
