HH Shaikh Nasser hails Bahrain’s MMA strides

Manama, May 16 (BNA): His Majesty the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, National Security Advisor and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, has affirmed that Bahrain’s success in maintaining its top position in the IMMAF-WMMAA ranking in 2020 is the outcome of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s constant care and follow-up. HH Shaikh Nasser stressed the key role played by the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and Bahrain Olympic Committee President, HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, in developing the Mixed martial arts (MMA) sport in the kingdom since 2015, which led Bahraini champions to bag 89 medals, including 35 gold, 17 silver and 37 bronze medals during their participation in various major events. HH Shaikh Nasser said that he has been keen on supporting HH Shaikh Khalid’s vision since the launch of the game in Bahrain, given the importance of this sport in shedding light on the kingdom’s achievements in various fields, as well as status as a capital of youth and sports in the Middle East region.
