HH Shaikh Nasser praises 'Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Endurance Cup'

Riyadh, Jan. 31 (BNA): Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, the second edition of the “Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Endurance Cup” will kick off on Saturday morning. Held in Al-Ula Province, the 120-km race is organised by the Royal Commission for Al-Ula, in cooperation with the Saudi Arabian Equestrian Federation, within the Tantora Winter Festival. On the occasion, HM the King’s Representative for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, National Security Advisor, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and Captain of the Royal Endurance Team, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, expressed pride in the organisation of the “Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Endurance Cup” carrying the name of the ‘Leader of the Islamic Nation’, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud. HH Shaikh Nasser said that King Salman’s support for the equestrian sport is a source of pride for all its affiliates. HH Shaikh Nasser indicated that the first edition of the race had witnessed an outstanding success, in terms of organisation, participation and exciting competition among riders, noting that the massive international participation in this year’s edition will increase competition among riders. HH Shaikh Nasser expressed confidence in the administrative and technical capabilities of the Royal Commission for Al-Ula and the Saudi Arabian Equestrian Federation, which, he affirmed, will ensure the success of the race. 204 male and female jockeys from 17 will participate in the “Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Endurance Cup” 2020. They are from Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Jordan, Egypt, Germany, France, Belgium, Italy, China, Pakistan, Portugal, Slovakia, Sudan, Tunisia and Uruguay. Bahrain Sports Channel will broadcast the race live, in coordination with the UAE-based Dubai Racing Channel, starting from 07:00 am.
