HH Shaikh Nasser praises HM the King’s Endurance Festival

Manama, Feb. 26 (BNA): Under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and following the directives of HM the King’s Representative for Charity Work and Youth Affairs, National Security Advisor, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and Honorary President of the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF), BREEF will hold a race on HM the King’s Cup for GCC Stables. Sponsored by GFH Group, the 120-kilometre-long race is within HM the King’s Endurance Festival, and will be held at the Bahrain International Endurance Village. Meanwhile, a 120-km and a 100-km races will be held on Friday and Saturday, respectively. The 160-km race on HM the King’s Endurance Cup, the main race, will be held on Sunday, with a wide participation from stables and knights. On the occasion, HH Shaikh Nasser stressed that HM the King’s support for the endurance sport has contributed to pacing the kingdom on the world’s map thanks to the multiple international achievements attained over the past period, noting that all stables and jockeys look forward to HM the King’s Endurance Festival. HH Shaikh Nasser pointed out that HM the King’s Endurance Festival is among the major sporting events in the endurance season in the kingdom, and witnesses fierce competition among riders, as it is patronised and attended by HM the King, the first knight in Bahrain. HH Shaikh Nasser added that the importance of the festival also stems from the participation of local and GCC stables, in addition to holding races for junior and youth riders, as well as for the public. HH Shaikh Nasser stressed that the best and strongest local and GCC stables and jockeys are eager to take part in the races in order to reach podiums, highlighting the advanced level reached by the endurance sport in Bahrain thanks to the support of HM the King. HH Shaikh Nasser welcomed the participants in HM the King’s Endurance Festival, wishing everyone success. He also praised GFH’s sponsorship of the prestigious event. Chief Executive Office of the Gulf Finance House, Hisham Al Rayes, expressed GFH’s delight at sponsoring HM the King’s Endurance Cup, one of the major sporting events in the kingdom and the region. He asserted that HM the King’s support for the endurance sport in the kingdom has enhanced the kingdom’s status in this fields. He pointed out that GFH’s sponsorship of HM the King’s Endurance Cup is in line with HH Shaikh Nasser’s vision on supporting various sports in Bahrain.
