Implementation of youth, sports policies discussed

Manama, May 8 (BNA): The Secretariat-General of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) held a coordination meeting with its team in charge of implementing the general policies of the SCYS and the Ministry of Youth and Sports. Assistant Undersecretary for Sports and Establishments Affairs, Khalid Al-Haj, and the relevant officials from the Youth and Sports Affairs Ministry attended. During the meeting, Director of Planning, Policies and Follow-up at the SCYS’ Secretariat-General, Rashid Abdullatif Al-Zayani, highlighted the SCYS’ 11 goals and policies. The meeting also discussed the projects being implemented by the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs for the sake of involving people with disabilities in youth and sports activities. The projects aim to promote disabled people’s confidence, self-reliance, physical and mental health, as well as to improve their communication skills and integration into society. The meeting also discussed the role played by the private sector as a strategic partner to the SCYS through developing an integrated programme that would contribute to turning sports into an industry.
