Inaugural AUAC 2017 To Serve As Platform To Test Technical Equipment For Sea Games 2017

NILAI (Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia) April 10 (Bernama) -- The 1st Asian University Archery Championships (AUAC 2017) will be held at the Kompleks Sukan Tunku Najihah Stadium in Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) here for four days starting Thursday. The AUAC 2017 media coordinator Nur Ekmal Buhary said the championships was a competition that involves all higher learning institutions in Malaysia, Taiwan, Singapore, Nepal, Iran, Mongolia, Hong Kong, Macau, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, China and the Philippines. "A total of 204 archers from 12 countries, including Malaysia, have registered for the inaugural AUAC. Three events will be contested - individual, team and mixed team - offering 10 gold medals," he said in a statement, here Monday. He said the championships would serve as a platform for the SEA Games 2017 technical committee to test the equipment before the SEA Games proper in August. The championships is organised by the Malaysian Universities Sports Council and supported by the Higher Education Ministry, Asean University Sports Council (AUSC) and ASIAN University Sports Federation (AUSF). -- BERNAMA
