LCSC General Manager: Circuit is Ideal Destination for Women to Practice Sport

Doha, February 17 (QNA) - General Manager of the Losail Circuit Sports Club (LCSC) Khalid Al Rumaihi confirmed that the LCSC has become an ideal destination for women to practice sports in complete privacy, adding that the activities organized by the club on Qatar Sports Day, in which nearly 3700 women and children participated, are the best proof of that. In a press statement, Al Rumaihi said that LCSC provides a distinct atmosphere for women to exercise. LCSC devotes Tuesdays for women to practice sport using LCSC facilities, he said. The Sports Day event organized by LCSC witnessed an increase in the number of participants by 6% compared to last year. Women were able to participate in a variety of free activities such as riding bike, fitness classes, zumba, yoga, and healthy lifestyle workshops, as well as cycling, jogging, and walking around the 5.3-kilometer track. LCSC, he said, seeks to participate in the various community activities that motivate women to do sports, the last of which is hosting the "Mother & daughter" event organized by Qatar Cyclists in cooperation with "Wefaq". Al Rumaihi considered that providing the appropriate climate is what encourages women to attend and do sports, as LCSC provides a good climate for enjoying sports in privacy, in light of the club's keenness that all volunteers, security officials and employees should be women. He also explained that the club is reaping the fruits of its efforts in providing a distinctive environment for women, through the great turnout of women every week, and also through the great turnout witnessed in the Sports Day event at the club. Al Rumaihi emphasized that LCSC seeks to invest this facility in the best way, by hosting community activities that urge a healthy lifestyle such as sports activity days designated for women and the public. Losail International Circuit is currently preparing to host the MotoGP Official TEST on Feb. 22, 23 and 24, 2020, followed by the Qatar Grand Prix - MotoGP 2020 from March 6-8. (QNA)
