Malaysia Collect Silver, Bronze In Mixed Doubles Event

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 24 (Bernama) -- Malaysian bowlers Wednesday added a silver and bronze medal in the mixed doubles event at the 7th Commonwealth Tenpin Bowling Championships in Northcliff Bowl, Johannesburg in South Africa. The combination of Muhammad Nur Aiman Khairuddin and Siti Safiyah Amirah Abdul Rahman who collected 2,799 pinfalls in Squad A Wednesday morning, were 21 pins behind English pair Becky Day and Elliot Cros who played in the afternoon under Squad B. The England pair amassed 2,820 pinfalls for the gold medal. Meanwhile, the Malaysian combination of Shalin Zulkifli and Timmy Tan took the bronze medal with 2,759 pinfalls. However, Shalin is currently leading in the women's All-event with 3,972 pins while Siti Safiyah Amirah is in third spot with 3,884 pinfalls. The men's All-event saw Muhammad Nur Aiman and Timmy taking the second and third positions with 4,346 and 4,142 pinfalls respectively. Thursday all participants will continue the competition in the mixed team event. -- BERNAMA
