Malaysian Pair Vivian-Khe Wei Get Slot At Dubai World Superseries Finals

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 9 (Bernama) -- Malaysian women's doubles pair Vivian Hoo and Woon Khe Wei will get the opportunity to play in the Dubai World Superseries Finals starting on Dec 14. Badminton World Federation (BWF) in a statement Friday said the duo will be replacing Indonesia's Nitya Krishinda Maheswari and Greysia Polii. "...Nitya Krishinda Maheswari/Greysia Polii have withdrawn due to Maheswari's knee surgery," said the statement. The statement also noted that men's singles player Chen Long and his Chinese team-mates, Fu Haifeng and Zhang Nan (men's doubles), have declined their Olympic Games wild-card entries into the Dubai World Superseries Finals. In Chen Long's place, Hong Kong has accepted an invitation for Hu Yun to compete in the men's singles in the season-ending tournament which starts on Wednesday at the Hamdan Sports Complex in Dubai.
