Mubarak Shannan Qualifies to Semifinals of Qatar F5 Futures

Doha, December 14 (QNA) - Qatar's Mubarak qualified to the semifinals of doubles event at Qatar F5 Futures organized by the Qatar Tennis Federation (QTF) in cooperation with International Tennis Federation. Mubarak Shannan teamed up with Italy's Adelchi Virgili to beat the Russian duo of Leonid Mazo and Evgenii Tiurnev 6-1 6-2 in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals, Mubarak and his Italian teammate will take on Jesper DE Jong and Bart Van Den Berg of the Netherlands. The Qatar F5 Futures began on Monday with participation of 32 players in singles event and 16 teams in doubles event from Portugal, France, Russia, Ukraine, Spain, South Korea and Qatar. The QTF used to organize this tournament to provide the Qatari players with opportunity to acquire more experience as the points of the tournament help them improve their world ranking. (QNA)
