Officials Praises Aspetar's International Medical Supports to Athletics Stars Participating in Diamond League Doha 2020

Doha, September 27 (QNA) - The Organizing Committee of the Wanda Diamond League Doha 2020 praised Aspetar's medical services provided this year's event, which held exceptionally on Friday 25th September, after it was scheduled last May due to the COVID 19 pandemic. "Thank you Aspetar and our medical team for the unparalleled support to assure safety. Everyone was tested before and after the event and the result was negative on both counts. That proves to that major sporting events can still happen if precautionary measures were taken." Tweeting the organizers. This year's competition came in exceptional circumstances due to the COVID19 pandemic, where a strict health protocol was applied with the aim of conducting competitions in appropriate health conditions, avoiding the impact of participants, and providing substantial medical support before and during the tournament. For this year's Doha Diamond League, Aspetar set up on-site facilities at the Qatar Sports Club offering services to all participating athletes 117 athletes from 65 countries participating in Doha Diamond League 2020. A team of physicians, nurses, physiotherapists and massage therapists provided immediate medical care throughout the event and at the participants' residences. Cheruiyot, the world 1,500m champion, said in press conference: "I took a cautious approach from the gun tonight. A small hamstring niggle prevented me from firing on all cylinders. Thanks to the Aspetar for their care these past days. " For the tenth consecutive year, Aspetar, the orthopaedic and sports medicine hospital, provided its world-class medical support to international and local athletes who took part in the 2020 IAAF Doha Diamond League held on Friday.
