Putrajaya To Host 2019 World Waterski Championships Next Month

PUTRAJAYA, July 8 (Bernama) -- Top waterski athletes from 33 countries will once again gather in Putrajaya to compete in the 2019 IWWF Waterski World Championships here next month. Putrajaya Corporation president Datuk Dr Aminuddin Hassim said the world-class event to be held at the Water Sports Complex in Precinct 6 from Aug 13 to 19, is the third to be organised in Putrajaya. At this year’s tournament local waterski star Aliyah Yoong Hanifah will represent the country together with her younger brothers Aiden and Adam along with another participant Nadiah Nasir. "The event is an opportunity to promote to the world Putrajaya’s chain of scenic man-made lakes over a 650-hectare area," said Aminuddin during the pre-launch of the World Waterski Championships at Putrajaya Corporation here Monday. “Visitors will be able to watch the tournament for free,” he said adding that Putrajaya hosted the event in 2008 and 2009. -- BERNAMA
