Qatar Olympic Academy Holds Third Master's Program in Sports Law

Doha, May 28 (QNA) - Qatar Olympic Academy (QOA) announced the third edition of the master's program in sports law in cooperation with the University of Lleida in Spain and a number of international bodies, such as the International Olympic Committee, the Olympic Council of Asia and the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) as well as Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC). The certificate will be officially approved by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in the State of Qatar. The lectures are given by a number of professors, who hold doctorate degrees in legal fields that focus on sports field, and staff from the University of Lleida, in addition to a selection of international lecturers specialized in the field of sports law accredited both in the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) or International Olympic Committee and ANOC. The program supports and develops legal bodies and departments in sports institutions as well as legal services in the field of sports at the local and international level. QOA Executive Director Saif Mohamed Al Nuaimi said the master's program in sports law is the only one in the region in this discipline. QOA aims, through this program, to raise awareness and culture related to the legal knowledge of sport at the local and international levels. This will provide scholars with knowledge and clarifications regarding international law and how to deal with regulations correctly and professionally. In addition to that, this program will support legal expertise and development of legal bodies in sports institutions at both domestic and international levels, he added. Al Nuaimi expressed happiness with the success of the previous versions of this program. He said that it has witnessed great acceptance at all levels and segments in society as well as from the highest organizations and bodies based on sports affairs, adding that all sides have expressed their support for the program during the last period.
