Qatar 'Roadto2022' Exhibition Kicks off in Sao Paulo

Sao Paulo, June 16 (QNA) - The Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy, in cooperation with Qatar Football Association, opened the "Road to Qatar 2022" exhibition in Sao Paulo, Brazil on the sidelines of the first participation of Qatar national team in Copa America. The exhibition celebrates Qatar's football culture and highlights preparations for the FIFA World Cup 2022. The exhibition features FIFA World Cup memorabilia, crowdsourced photographs which highlight football culture in Qatar, models of the eight Qatar 2022 stadiums and details about Qatar's Asian Cup victory. Much of the memorabilia is the property of Qatari collector Mohammed Abdulatif and includes match-worn shirts, footballs, tickets and more. FIFA World Cup Qatar LLC Chief Executive Officer Nasser Al Khater said the exhibition was giving fans a taste of what they can expect when world football's premier international tournament heads to Qatar for the first time in 2022. "It's been great to see so many people visiting the exhibition," said Al Khater. "With Qatar playing in the Copa America for the first time, we recognized this was a golden opportunity to engage with some of the most passionate fans in the world and give them an idea of what to expect when they travel to Qatar in just over three years' time." Al Khater added: "The fans are obviously interested in the memorabilia, including match worn shirts that belonged to Pele and Diego Maradona, but they are also fascinated to learn more about our stadiums and view the crowdsourced photographs which show a side of Qatar many people may not be familiar with." "We look forward to welcoming hundreds more fans to the exhibition over the next week - and hope many of them will travel to Qatar to support their teams and sample our famous hospitality in 2022." Al Khater said. The exhibition is located at the third floor of JK Iguatemi mall and will continue till June 24. (QNA)
