Qatar Total Open One of the Top Tennis Tournaments, Tennis Federation Secretary-General Says

Doha, February 15 (QNA) - Secretary-General of Qatar Tennis, Squash and Badminton Federation Tareq Zainal said that Qatar Total Open continues to deliver year after year, to become one of the top tournaments after the four Grand Slams. Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Zainal said that Qatar Total Open started big in 2001, and has seen a number of world champions win its title over the years. He added that the success in organizing the competition was a result of the accumulation of expertise, adding that the latest edition represented a challenge for the organizing committee in how to develop the tournament further. He said that the competition this year was greatly successful in terms of the participation of the top-ranked tennis players. He invited the fans to enjoy the semi-finals on Friday and the final Saturday at Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex, stressing that the fans are one of the most important elements in the success of any competition. He noted that tennis has a large fan base in Qatar, evident by the attendance in previous competitions. (QNA)
