Qatari Boxer Sheikh Fahad Prepares for 14th Face-Off in Professional Boxing
Doha, February 16 (QNA) - Qatari professional boxer Sheikh Fahad bin Khalid bin Jassim Al-Thani has completed his intensive preparations for his upcoming 14th match in light middle-weight division in his professional career under the umbrella of the Professional Boxers Association in Spain, to be on 29th of February.
Sheikh Fahad was scheduled to take on the Roman boxer Marius Petrus on Friday, but it got cancelled due to a sudden injury of the Roman boxer 24 hours before the scheduled date.
The Qatari boxer's support team and French coach Frank Bohic had discussed with the Spanish Professional Boxers Association for a substitute that he can face instead of going back to Doha directly, nevertheless the search have failed considering that most boxers were engaged with other previously scheduled matches.
The French Coach decided that cancelling the match in sudden might be in Shaikh Fahad's benefit, specially that it will give him the opportunity to more focus, as it is quite hard for any boxer to have three strong matches during three or four weeks, which could lead to exhaustion and lack of focus.
Sheikh Fahad came back to Doha, after he made sure that his face-off is officially cancelled and no substitute was found, to continue his training program supervised by French coach Frank Bohic and in attendance of the Puerto Rican boxer Carlos Leon.
Furthermore, Leon will be having a friendly face-off with him, so no confusion would happen in his training program as well for the status to stay as it is until the next scheduled confrontation at the end of the month.
Even though the match was scheduled long ago in the Spanish association's agendas, the Qatari boxer's competitor for the next match is not announced yet, the matter which makes it harder given that he will not be able to study the competitor and his playing method before facing him.
Moreover, Shaikh Fahad is hoping to reach a number of 20 matches by the end of 2020, to improve his ranking.
Shaikh Fahad made 13-win strike in the light middle-weight division during his over-two-year career supervised by the Spanish Professional Boxers Association. (QNA)
