Qatari Champion Nasser Al Attiyah Leads Silk Way Rally 2019

Ulan Bator, July 10 (QNA) - Qatar's champion Nasser Saleh Al Attiyah extended his lead in the Silk Way Rally 2019 after securing the first place in the fourth stage with a distance of (470.19 km) of the total (476.96) km, which started from the city of Ulan Bator in Mongolia. Nasser Al Attiyah and Mathieu Baumel (Toyota Gazoo Racing Overdrive) continue to dominate the car category after this win. The Dakar title holders won their fourth stage on the trot and continues their trouble-free run. Eric Van Loon and Sebastien Delaunay for their part secured the second place with their Toyota Hilux. Starting eighth on the road this morning, the duo eats their weight in dust to compensate for Monday’s mechanical problems. Al Attiyah and French Mathieu Baumel are now leading the Rally after winning the fourth stage with a time of 9 hours, 3 minutes and 27 seconds, extending the gap with their closest rivals to 26 minutes and 41 seconds. The fifth stage of the Silk Way Rally 2019 will be held on Thursday in Mongolia, starting from Ulan Bator to Mandalgovi with a total distance of 364.59 km. (QNA)
