Qatar's Ahmed Tarek Partakes in Round 4 of FINA Marathon Swim World Series

Doha, June 12 (QNA) - Qatar's Ahmed Tarek will participate in Round 4 of the FINA Marathon Swim World Series (10 kilometers) in Hungary on Saturday. Ahmed Tarek will travel to Hungary on Thursday to participate in the tournament, which is part of the Qatari swimmers' participation in the FINA Marathon Swim World Series this year. Along with his teammate Abdulrahman Hesham, Ahmed Tarek participated in the Round 1 of the series, held in Doha on February 16. He also participated in the Second round held in Seychelles on May 12. The FINA Marathon Swim World Series annually staged elite-level competition is organized in over 9 locations and takes places in either fresh water or sea. Since 2007, FINA decided to focus the World Cup on the 10km distance only, as a direct consequence of the introduction of the 10km Marathon Swim into the Olympic programme in 2008. (QNA)
