QTF President: HH the Amir Honoring of Conclusion of Qatar Total Tennis is Biggest Support for Tournament
Doha, March 01 (QNA) - HE President of the Qatar Tennis, Squash, and Badminton Federation (QTF) Nasser bin Ghanim Al Khelaifi said that the honoring and presence of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani for the conclusion of Qatar Total Women Tennis Open is the biggest support for the tournament.
In a statement on Saturday, Al Khelaifi extended his sincere thanks to the wise leadership of the State of Qatar for the great support for the tennis sport.
He expressed his happiness at the distinguished success achieved by the 8th Qatar Total Women Tennis Open 2020, adding the 2020 edition was distinguished in all aspects in terms of the participation of 64 players, including the best players, the great technical level, and the large and distinguished media coverage.
HE QTF President thanked all the committees of the tournament and the officials of the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) for the distinguished level of the tournament every year and for their great efforts throughout the past days.
On the final match that brought together the two Czech champions Petra Kvitova and Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, Al Khelaifi confirmed that the two players have made high level performances, and the match was truly worthy of two champions who achieved outstanding results in the tournament.
He stressed that the real gain achieved in the tournament is the complete dependence on the Qatari cadres in organizing the championship, adding that they acted with high professionalism in many difficult situations that the championship has gone through. He added that everyone in QTF and the organizing committee were responsible and presented a wonderful work, which received praise from the participating players, the WTA officials, and all the international and local media.
Al Khelaifi congratulated all the players who participated in the tournament and contributed to its success, whether at the individual or doubles competitions, adding, "We look forward to seeing you in Doha in the next edition." (QNA)
