Royal Guard win BDF Chief Cup

Manama, Feb. 3(BNA): Title holders the Royal Guard won the cup of the Commander-in-Chief Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa, beating the Bahrain Royal Airforce ( 3 / 1).
The final match, which coincided with festivities marking the 52nd BDF anniversary, was held at the Khalifa Sports City stadium in Isa Town.
Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa deputized Defence Affairs Minister Lieutenant-General Abdulla Hassan Al-Nuaimi.
BDF Assistant Chief of Staff Major-General Ghanim Ibrahim Al-Khalifa and other senior officers also attended the final match, along with Bahrain Football Association (BFA) Chairman Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al-Khalifa.
Talal Al-Naar scored the first goal for the Royal Guard 46” into the match before Ali Abdulaziz equalized (54”) for the Bahrain Royal Force. Habib Haroun and Moses sealed the final victory for the Royal Guard, netting two goals 67” and 81” into the match.
Defence Affairs Minister Lieutenant-General Abdulla Hassan Al-Nuaimi crowned the Royal Guard with gold medals. Royal Guard Deputy Commander Major-General Hamad Khalifa Al-Nuaimi presented the Bahrain Royal Airforce with the silver medals. Third-placed Technical Maintenance also received the bronze medals.
