SC Security Committee Continues to Develop Skills of the 2022 World Cup Participants

Doha, October 02 (QNA) - The Security Committee of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC) continued to develop the electronic skills of the participating countries at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, hosted by Qatar. The Electronic Security Unit of the SC Security Committee organized today the fourth awareness lecture on process technology and security control at the Electronic Security Center at the Ministry of Interior for the participating countries in the 2022 World Cup. The Assistant Head of the Electronic Security Unit of the SC Security Committee Major Osman Salem Al Hamoud, stressed the importance of this lecture in building the capabilities related to cybersecurity and to enhance the electronic infrastructure of various state entities in preparation for hosting the World Cup 2022 in a safe and effective manner, pointing out that the unit aims to organize these lectures to bodies involved in the 2022 World Cup. Al Hamoud explained that the lecture dealt with the definition of electronic industrial control systems of the ministries, agencies and institutions of the state, as well as the mechanism of operation and security protection and how to respond in case of any emergency, and identifying the latest risks and threats that may be exposed to electronic networks. He pointed out that the unit is undertaking several initiatives and projects with the aim of strengthening the aspect of cybersecurity and evaluating the network, and to address any electronic gap in these networks. The Unity Officer Lt. Khalid Mohammed Al Hashimi said that the lecture is part of the efforts exerted to develop the cybersecurity capabilities of various state institutions in preparation for the 2022 World Cup. He pointed out that the unit has organized several previous lectures to strengthen this aspect of the state institutions, whether governmental or private. (QNA)
