Second Strongest Bahraini Championship to start on Thursday

Manama, Feb. 19(BNA): The 2nd Strongest Bahraini Championship will be held under the patronage of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Athletics Association and Honorary President of Bahrain Sports Federation for Disabilities. Ahmed Al Shaikh, President of the 2nd Strongest Bahraini Championship's High Organising Committee and Manager of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa Media Office, said that the Committee is looking forward to writing a new successful chapter through in the second edition of the championship, Taking place under the slogan #Be_a_Beast, the event will kick-off on Thursday, and will conclude after two days (February 23, 2019) at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC). The Championship's proceeds will be donated to support cancer patients as the event is part of HH Shaikh Khalid's humanitarian and sports initiatives. He made remarks came during the press conference which was held at the BIC's Media Center to shed lights on the latest organisational development of the Championship. Speaking during the conference were Ahmed Jamsheer, Head of the Arbitration Committee of the Championship and Shareef Al Mahdi, CEO of the BIC, while it was overseen by Fawaz Al Abdullah. The event was attended by many media representatives and participants in the Championship. Kicking off the press conference, Al-Shaikh conveyed to the attendees the greetings of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and HH's best wishes to all the participants in the 2nd edition of the championship, adding that the High Organising Committee had completed all the preparations for the event and the venue is ready to embrace it. He announced that HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa had instructed the High Organising Committee to allocate cash prizes and a 4WD car for the winner. He revealed that the Committee would provide the participants with the outfits and the necessary gears for the event. Minister of Youth and Sports Affairs Aymen Tawfiq Al Moayyed, praised HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa's initiatives, which aim to cement the sports area in the Kingdom of Bahrain and bring real challenge among the Kingdom's youth, while at the same time support the humanitarian efforts in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
