Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad attends MMA Championship

Manama, May 2 (BNA): HH shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee witnessed the 2nd Asian Amateur MMA Championship which is taking place on May 2-4 at the Ambassador Hotel. Organised by the IMMAF-WMMAA, the event is featuring several Bahraini MMA fighters. On this occasion, HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa praised the efforts of the IMMAF-WMMAA towards spreading the MMA sport in the Asian continent via supporting and sponsoring various MMA events. HH Shaikh Khalid praised the performances showcased by the fighter on the first day of the event, stating that this reflects the level of their preparations and readiness to embark on this competition. "We are happy with the displays of all the fighters on the first day of the event. My presence here reflects my commitment and interest to support and encourage them," HH Shaikh Khalid said, expressing his thanks to Bahrain fithers Ibrahim Darwish, Abdulmanaf Mohammedov and Murad for their performances during the event despite losing their bouts. It's worth noting that the Championship will feature 79 fighters, among whom are 16 from the Kingdom of Bahrain, namely Ibrahim Darweesh, Isa Al Dowi, Mohammed Al Moamari, Mansoor Mohammadov, Ali Yaqoob, Mohammed Arsof, Abdulmanaf Mohammedov, Isa Al Omairi, Shamil Jumpatov, Yousif Sayyar, Mohammed Abbas, Murad Jusinov, Abdulrahman Al Hassan, Ramadan Jetanov, Mohammed Haji, Shamil Ghaziev and Basha Kharasheef. Twelve of them have advanced to the semifinals of the event which will take place on Friday.
