S.Leader Appreciates Natl Basketball Team

Tehran, Aug 12, IRNA – Following glorious victory of Iranian national mens basketball team in final match of 2013 FIBA Asian Basketball Championship, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution issued an appreciation message addressing them. Iranian national mens basketball team on Sunday afternoon won the final match of the 2013s 27th FIBA Asian Basketball Championship games against the host team, the Philippines, 85-71 in Manila, in the presence of over 15,000 enthusiastic Filipino fans, including their president, vice president, and a number of athletic champions. The Supreme Leader's message reads, In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful; I appreciate the national basketball team, which pleased our dear people. President Hassan Rohani, the Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani, and President Rohanis proposed Sports and Youth Minister Masoud Soltanifar, too, in separate messages appreciated the national basketball teams victory./end
