Thiem Crashes Out of Qatar Open

Doha, January 02 (QNA) - Austria's Dominic Thiem, the number two seed, was surprisingly defeated by France's Pierre Hugues-Herbert on Tuesday in 2019 Qatar Open's second surprise. Hugues-Herbert, the world number 55, beat Thiem, the world number eight, 6-3, 7-5 in the first round of 2019 Qatar Open to qualify for the second round. The first shock of 2019 Qatar Open was the elimination of Belgium's David Goffin, the sixth seed of the tournament and number 22 on the world, after losing to Lithuanian Ricardas Berankis, 3/6, 6/4 and 7/6 on Tuesday.
