Thomas Butcher: “Baku City Circuit is completely ready to host Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix”

Baku, April 23, AZERTAC “Baku City Circuit is completely ready to host Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix 2019,” BCC's Head of Venue Delivery Department Thomas Butcher said during a media tour on the track. Butcher said that they have been working for three months and now they are ready for the racing. “Formula 1 and International Automobile Federation officials are also ready for the big racing event.” “We try to organize this year’s event as excellently as we did in the previous years. There were a number of things that needed to be done before the roads were completely blocked. We have set up barriers and doors, and painted them in some places, installed additional barriers for security purposes in the corner sections of the track,” Butcher mentioned. The Australian specialist said that the teams are busy making their garages ready for the racing. “Since last week, the teams' cargoes have been arriving to Baku via air, land and water transportation. Soon we'll see the pilots here too,” he added. The 2019 Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix will be held on April 26-28.
