Winning Asian Cup Result of Group Effort, Advisor of National Teams Say

Doha, February 06 (QNA) - Advisor of national teams Talal Al Kaabi said today that everyone contribute to the national team's win of the 2019 AFC Asian Cup. He reserved special praise for the performances they gave throughout the competition. He noted that the performance of national football teams has been on the rise thanks to careful planning. He highlighted that the U-19s won the Asian Cup, while the U-23s came in third place in their respective competition, and added that the goal was to reach the semi-finals of the AFC Asian Cup. He added that the team needs four more years of sustained performance to prove that the team is one of Asia's greats. He stressed that after Qatar hosts World Cup 2022 for the first time in the history of the Arab world, the entire world will recognize Qatar as one of Asia's greats. He also praised the support of the team, saying that both citizens and residents were fully behind the players during the competition and when Qatar won the rights to organize the World Cup 2022. Al Kaabi discussed the Copa America participation and expressed his hope that the side can be a good representative of Asian and Arab football. (QNA)
