World Athletics Championships: Kipruto Wins Men's 3,000M Steeplechase Gold

Doha, October 05 (QNA) - Consenslus Kipruto of Kenya won the Men's 3,000-Metre Steeplechase gold medal in the IAAF World Athletics Championships Doha 2019, at the Khalifa International Stadium. Kipruto won the title in 8 minutes, 1.35 seconds beating Ethiopia's Lamecha Girma, who came in second place in 8:01.36. Soufiane El Bakkali of Morocco won the bronze in 8:03.76. Speaking to QNA, Soufiane El Bakkali expressed pride in winning the bronze medal. The Moroccan champion said that the race was very intense and witnessed tough competition from the other athletes. El Bakkali explained that he is going to have some rest before starting his Tokyo 2020 Olympics camp. (QNA)
