Doha, October 02 (QNA) - Qatari hurdler Mariam Farid came in the seventh place in her heat in the 400m hurdles women at the IAAF World Athletics Championships, Doha 2019. Mariam Farid finished the race in 1:09.49, 15 seconds behind Sydney Mclaughlin of the U.S. "My goal is inspiring the younger generation, breaking down barriers, making peoples perception of how women are in the Middle East," Mariam Farid said in remarks. "We are not oppressed. I can still compete with my scarf on. If there is something I want to do, I will do it," she stressed. (QNA)
