Malaysian Polytechnic Team Clinches 18 Medals At FIRA Roboworld Cup 2016

PUTRAJAYA, Dec 21 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Polytechnic Team has successfully clinched six gold, eight silver and four bronze medals at the 21st Federation of International Robot-Soccer Association (FIRA) RoboWorld Cup 2016 held in Beijing, China, from Dec 14 to 18. The Higher Education Ministry in a statement Tuesday said that this year's performance was the best ever achieved by the team since its first participation in 2010. "The total number of medals bagged this year is 18 compared to only 15 last year. The ministry congratulates the Malaysian Polytechnic Team for their success," the statement said. Ten countries contested in the RoboWorld Cup 2016, including Mexico, Taiwan, India, China, Indonesia and South Korea. The Malaysian team comprised Ungku Omar Polytechnic, Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Polytechnic, Port Dickson Polytechnic, Sultan Idris Shah Polytechnic, Sultan Azlan Shah (PSAS) Polytechnic and Balik Pulau Polytechnic. They contested in four categories, namely HuroCup, AndroSot, RoboSot and SimuroSot. -- BERNAMA
