Robotics Challenge Sets Record in Malaysia Book of Records

PUTRAJAYA, Feb 21 (Bernama) -- The participation of 1,980 students in the robotics Lego Education Space Challenge Tuesday, set a new record in the Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR) as a robotics competition with the most participation. The competition which witnessed participation from 198 teams comprising primary and secondary school students nationwide was organised by the federal territories ministry, in collaboration with the education ministry, in conjunction with Federal Territory Day. The MBOR certificate was presented by its representative, Mohamad Alex Edward to Federal Territories Minister Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor in the closing ceremony of the challenge held at Seri Siantan hall here Tuesday. Earlier in his speech, Tengku Adnan said the programme was an initiative to boost the involvement of students in the field of science, technology, engineering and mathematics, in line with efforts to generate more specialists in the fields. He said the programme was capable of increasing the balance of human capital development for those in the federal territories, especially students, through creative and innovative activities. -- BERNAMA
