Iran-Pakistan Economy Mins. Stress Expanding Ties
Tehran, May 12, IRNA – Iranˈs Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs Ali Tayebnia in a meeting with visiting Finance Minister of Pakistan Senator Ishaq Dar on Monday stressed expansion of economic ties.
Tayebnia called for removal of obstacles standing in the way of promotion of the two countriesˈ bilateral economic ties.
Both countries should do their best to facilitate economic interactions between the private sectors of Iran and Pakistan, he noted.
Pakistani finance minister, for his part, stressed consolidation of economic relations with Iran.
Islamabad is keen to enhance the current volume of trade exchange with Tehran, Ishaq Dar added.
Iran and Pakistan signed several memorandums of understanding (MoUs) in different sectors during the current visit of the Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in a move to broaden mutual cooperation.
Sharif arrived in Iran Sunday morning to confer with senior Iranian officials on the latest regional and international developments, and explore new avenues for the promotion of Tehran-Islamabad all-out ties.
The Pakistani foreign, economy and trade ministers are accompanying Sharif during the visit./end
