National Gasoline Production Capacity To Increase By 70m L/d By Year End

Tehran, April 8, IRNA – Iranˈs Deputy Oil Minister and head of the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) Alireza Zeighami, said here on Sunday that increase in production of oil derivatives, especially gasoline, and expediting commissioning of development projects are on the agenda of his Company this year, designated as “The Year of Political and Economic Epic.ˈ Zeighami said the NIORDC has on its agenda increase in production of gasoline by 70 million liters per day by the end of the current once development projects in Lavan, Bandar Abbas, Isfahan and Tabriz refineries are completed. Operation of the first phase of Persian Gulf Star Refinery in the near future will result in a 100 million liters/day increase in gasoline production, he noted. He noted that on the average, 61.5 million liters of gasoline were produced last year with the consumption standing at 63.5 million liters./end
