Greek film fest to screen Iranian film

Tehran, Nov 24, IRNA – ‘On the Wings of Imagination’, a feature film by Farhad Mehranfar, will be screened at the 17th Olympia International Film Festival for Children & Young People. The 17th edition of the film festival will be held in Pyrgos city from November 29-December 6, 2014. The competitive festival will be held in sections of feature films, short fiction films, animation short films as well as Kids and Docs, Iran’s Visual Media Institute reported on Sunday. As the only representative of Iran, ‘On the Wings of Imagination’ will be screened in the feature films’ section; which will be attended by 12 works of 13 nations namely Canada, Switzerland, Austria, Latvia, Rumania, Germany, France, India, Sweden, Iran, Belgium and Taiwan. The flick had its international premiere at China’s Golden Rooster and Hundred Flowers Film Festival. It recounts the story of Bahram who travels to an unknown place along with his daughter Raha who has a creative imagination, despite having Down’s syndrome. Bahram, a scriptwriter, is looking for the reason for his failures in his mental conversations with his wife, and takes notes. At the end of this short journey on the border of imagination and reality, he faces the fact of his own death and existence, the journey with no return for him./end
