AA opened New York office

The new office which will be the agency's coordinating center throughout the Americas was opened as part of AA’s "Centennial Vision" to become one of the top five agencies in the world by 2020. NEW YORK (AA) – Anadolu Agency’s America Regional Directorate New York office has been inaugurated by Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc on Sunday. The new office which will be the agency's coordinating center throughout the Americas was opened as part of AA’s "Centennial Vision" to become one of the top five agencies in the world by 2020. Anadolu Agency’s Director General Kemal Ozturk accompanied Arinc at the opening ceremony attended also by Turkey's Washington ambassador Namik Tan, Turkey's permanent representative at the UN Halit Cevik, NY consul general Levent Bilgen, Director General of Press and Information Department Murat Karakaya, Public Diplomacy Coordinator Cemalettin Hasimi, AA Board of Directors member Prof. Nihat Erdogmus, AA Deputy Director General and Editor-in-chief Omer Eksi, AA Deputy Director General Cagatay Culcuoglu, Turkey News Editor Ertugrul Cingil and other guests. Located near the UN Headquarters and significant buildings of New York on Second Avenue, one of Manhattan's busiest streets, the office is equipped with the latest technological devices. AA’s New York office will be sending first-hand news from world's financial hot-spots NY Jones and Wall Street and from the very heart of United Nations to its subscribers. The office’s reporters will submit the last minute news on the global financial market and Wall Street. As part of its 'Centennial Vision,' Anadolu Agency has decided to divide its global network into five main regions including Europe, the Americas, Middle East-Africa, Asia-Caucasia, and Asia-Pacific. AA America Regional Directorate New York office will be the centre of news from not only the USA but also from Canada, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico and Chile and from over 60 countries in time. AA currently provides wire services in six languages - Turkish, Arabic, English, Bosnian, Russian and Kurdish - and aims to increase this number to eleven by 2020, when it will celebrate its hundredth anniversary.
