Bangkok schools to close as protesters mass

BANGKOK, Nov 24 (TNA) - Schools near anti-government rally sites in Thailand’s capital city Bangkok could close its doors temporarily from Monday when demonstrators are due to mass the streets and call for Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra’s resignation. Ninnart Chalitanon, permanent secretary of Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), said officials would decide by Sunday afternoon if schools under the BMA should close. Multiple requests have been made for protest leaders to reconsider Monday’s march on 12 roads in central Bangkok, but there has not been a response, said Ninnart. (TNA)
