Belgian chefs join Thailand food tour

BANGKOK, June 2 (TNA) - Five Belgian celebrity chefs take a culinary journey in Thailand and learn about cultural treasures in a promotion campaign by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT). TAT Governor Yuthasak Supasorn said the five chefs - Nils Proost, Anthony Van Snoeck, Bram Heylens, Jonas Haegeman and Stijn Audenaert – would travel to destinations in Bangkok, Pathum Thani and Samut Songkram from Saturday to Monday. They would learn about Thai culinary cultures in the program via activities with street food vendors, Michelin Star restaurants, food markets and communities, Yuthasak said. The cultural exchange program was collaboration between TAT and Visit Flanders office, he said. Yuthasak said gastronomy tourism was an important part of TAT’s strategy as Thailand had established its reputation as excellent gastronomical destination. - (TNA)
